
MACS Celebrates
Independence Day Weekend with Two Events at
Indiana, PA (June 20,
2008) The
Mid-Atlantic Championship Series will continue their jaunt through the Buckeye
State with a trip to the Coleman Family’s Portsmouth Raceway Park, Portsmouth,
Ohio with two separate, one day shows over the Independence Day weekend.
Leading the way will be the ‘Weaver Gas and Oil Independence Day 50’ held on
Friday, July 4 paying $5,000 to winner and $400 to start from the $30,000 total
purse. All drivers failing to make the A Main will receive $100 for their
efforts. The following day, Saturday, July 5, will be the Stars and Stripes
‘Pepsi 75’ paying a hefty $10,000 to win and $700 to start with the purse over
$47,000. All drivers attempting to qualify and failing to make the A Main will
receive $200.00
The ‘Weaver Gas and Oil
Independence Day 50’ as well as the ‘Pepsi 75’ will both be full MACS programs
featuring including AlturnaMATS® Time Trails presented by JNJ Motorsports Media,
Heats, the Sunoco Race Fuels B Main presented by Bazell Oil, the Keizer Aluminum
Wheels 2nd B Main presented by Big Shot Performance.
The purse for the ‘Weaver Gas
and Oil Independence Day 50’ is as follows: 1. $5,000; 2. $3,000; 3. $2,000; 4.
$1,500; 5. $1,250; 6. $1,150; 7 $1,050; 8. $1,000 9. $850; 10. $700 11. $600;
12. $575; 13. $550; 14. $525; 15. $500;16. $475; 17. $450; 18. $425; 19. $400;
20. $400; 21. $400; 22. $400; 23. $400; 24.$400. All drivers who do not transfer
to the A Main will receive $100.00.

Stripes ‘Pepsi 75’ will be: 1. $10,000; 2. $5,000; 3. $3,000; 4. $2,250; 5.

2008 MACS ROY contenders Michael Altobelli, Jr. Thomas Baker, Ron Delano, Jr.,
Greg Fetters, Coleby Frye, Russell King, Donald Lingo, Jr. and Tony Lombardi are
all expected to be in attendance for both events as well as many of southern
Ohio’s and northern Kentucky’s best including the Bocooks, Nick and Josh; Jackie
Boggs; Chris Combs; Rod, R.J. and Delmas Conley; Kenny Kristy; Josh McGuire; and
Audie Swartz to name just a few.
The pit gates for both shows will open at 4 pm with the drivers meeting being
held at 6 pm. Hot Laps will be track side at 6:45 pm with the AlturnaMATS Shock
the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media following at 7:15 pm
