events now in the books, two first time winners have sat in victory lane, and
Greencastle, PA’s Gary Stuhler is at the a top of the Mid-Atlantic Championship
Series point standings as the series treks south on Saturday,
June 14 to Bill Sawyer’s
Virginia Motor Speedway, Jamaica, VA. This event is dubbed the ‘Miss Utility
Summer Sizzler featuring the Dig with Care 50’ paying $7,000 to the winner from
the $39,000 purse. Then the following Saturday, June 21 the tour returns to
Sharon Speedway, Hartford, OH for the first time since 2006 for the second
annual ‘Triton 50’ paying $5,000 to-win. These two events combined boast a
healthy $69,000 total purse!
The ‘Miss Utility Summer
Sizzler featuring the Dig with Care 50’ at Bill Sawyer’s immaculate, ½ mile,
Virginia Motor Speedway features a $39,000 purse with a full MACS program
including AlturnaMATS® Time Trails presented by Big Shots Performance, Heats,
the Sunoco Race Fuels B Main presented by Bazell Oil, the Keizer Aluminum Wheels
2nd B Main presented by JNJ Motorsports Media, and a 50-lap, $7,000 to-win A
Main paying $500 to start.
“Virginia (Motor Speedway) is
one of my favorite places to go,” expounded back to back and defending MACS
champion Jason Covert who currently sits second in 2008 championship standings.

include ‘06 and ‘07 MACS Champion, Racin’ Jason Covert; ‘05 Champion “The
Floodwall Flyer” Mike Balzano; 2002 Series Champion “The Flyin’ School Teacher”,
Jack Pencil; ‘06 and ‘07 ROY titlist’s Nick Dickson and Matt Lux, Frostburg,
MD’s Chuck Clise, Doug Horton, Bruceton Mills, WV as well as 2008 MACS ROY
contenders Michael Altobelli, Jr. Thomas Baker, Ron Delano, Jr., Greg Fetters,
Coleby Frye, Russell King, Donald Lingo, Jr. and Tony Lombardi are all expected
to be in attendance for both events as well as many of Maryland and Virginia’s
best at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway and numerous Ohio, Western
Pennsylvania and New York drivers for the ‘Triton 50’ at Sharon Speedway.
The pit gate opens at 2:00
p.m. for the ‘Miss Utility Summer Sizzler featuring the Dig with Care 50’ at
Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 14th with the
drivers meeting at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with time
trails slated for 6:30 p.m. Racing will immediately follow the conclusion of
