R.J. Conley Records Third Triumph of 2008 Last Saturday at Portsmouth!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley reached victory lane for the third time in 2008 last Saturday night, June 21 at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio! R.J. qualified well and won the dash to earn the pole position for the $2,000 to win main event. The Wheelersburg, Ohio native then wheeled his #71c to victory lane after leading flag-to-flag in the A-Main to record the win over Eric Wells, Jackie Boggs, Josh McGuire, and Joe Ramey.

His brother Rod Conley was in action in a pair of $2,000 to win Dirt Late Model events last weekend in southern Ohio. "Hot Rod" kicked off his doubleheader weekend by running third behind winner Jackie Boggs and runner-up Greggie Oliver on Friday evening, June 20 at the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio. He then joined his brother at Portsmouth on Saturday, where he wound up seventh in the final rundown. Delmas Conley was also slated to be in action on Saturday, but Mother Nature washed out the racing program at the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio after qualifying.

“It was great to get another win, especially in front of the crowd at Portsmouth,” stated R.J. Conley today. “The track was in great shape and you could run all over it. Hopefully, the win will give us some momentum heading into the big 4th of July weekend at K-C and Portsmouth!”

All three members of the Conley Motorsports, Inc. team will take the upcoming weekend, June 27-28, off from Dirt Late Model competition, as Rod’s daughter Kristen will be getting married on Saturday night. After a few days off to recuperate, Delmas, Rod, and R.J. are all slated to return to action at the K-C (OH) Raceway (July 3) and the Portsmouth (OH) Raceway Park (July 4-5).
