Drivers Fianal Tune-Up For Big Race
Tonight, with the biggest event of the year for the
Charger division on tap, it will be no surprise to see an increase in
car count for 25-lap extra purse Charger feature. But in addition, the
NASCAR Pizza Hut Super Late Model field is expected to rise in
quantity and quality during Friday's last chance to tune up for the
Penn West Toyota Lift 100.
Three-time Motordrome Champion Rick Miller and former Jennerstown
Champ Barry Awtey are both expected to make their second starts of
2008 this Friday, in preparation for the June 20th running of the
crown-jewel 100-lapper. Hard-luck driver of the year Mark Smith is
expected to return to action, while 2007 feature winner John
Komarinski will hope to make his first feature start of the year,
since mechanical problems sidelined him in heat race action last week.
Penn West Industrial Equipment and Toyota Lift Trucks are again
sponsoring the 100-lap Super Late Model event on June 20, which was
won last year by Bobby Henry. Henry, who won last Friday's 40-lap
feature, is one four different winners in 2008. His teammate Garry
Wiltrout and Bentz Motorsports' Tommy Beck each have one victory this
season, while Henry joins Neil Brown as repeat visitors to victory
lane. |
