ROLEX SERIES                  Daytona Prototype:

CLASSES:                             The top category in Grand-Am Road Racing and the undisputed stars of the Rolex Sports Car Series, Daytona Prototypes are

exotic, mid-engine machines, purpose-built strictly for competition on the track.  Low to the ground and capable of speeds in excess of

185 mph, Daytona Prototypes also feature the latest in safety technology including carbon fiber side impact panels and a multi-point roll

cage with a unique center post at mid-windshield.

 

Grand Touring (GT):

                                                Home to production-based race cars that are similar in appearance to the latest high-performance sports cars and coupes that you see on

the street every day.  Only in GT can you see nimble, flax-six Porsche GT3s take on big bore V-8 Corvettes and Pontiac GXP.Rs, while

also mixing it up with three-rotor Mazda RX-8s, mid-engine Ferrari 430s, and BMW M6 coupes.

Grand-Am’s Street Tuner (ST) class showcases sports cars and high-performance compacts.  The ST class is limited to four- and six-cylinder engines only, including the Acura TSX, Acura RSX-S, Mazda RX-8, BMW 330i, Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged, Subaru Legacy, Mini Cooper S among others.  The only major modifications to the car that are permitted are those for safety as they reach speeds close to 135 mph.

 

Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup:
Sanctioned by Grand American Road Racing Association
Saturday, June 21

A brand-new “spec” championship designed around the new Ford Mustang FR500S, the series is part of the Ford Racing Mustang “ladder program” and is positioned as a stepping stone for road racing drivers looking to move up from amateur racing on the way to higher-echelon road racing series.

This open-wheel series was created to give young drivers the opportunity to learn as they move from karting to single-seater racing cars.  Many of the drivers from the series have made successful steps forward in their chosen motorsport career, including Graham Rahal, James Hinchcliffe, Tom Milner and others.
