SECTION VI - SPILL, LEAK, & DISPOSAL PROCEDURES

ACTION FOR MATERIAL RELEASE OR SPILL:
Wear goggles, coveralls, natural rubber or neoprene gloves and boots. Add dry absorbent, shovel or sweep up. Place in an appropriate container and seal. Wash all contaminated clothing before reuse. In the event of a large spill, call the emergency telephone number shown on the front of this sheet.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:
Dispose of contaminated product, empty containers and materials used in cleaning up spills or leaks in a manner approved for this material. Consult appropriate Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies to ascertain proper disposal procedures.

SECTION VII - HEALTH HAZARD DATA

EYE: May cause slight transient (temporary) eye irritation. Corneal injury is unlikely. Symptoms may include stinging, tearing, redness, and swelling.

SKIN CONTACT: Exposure may cause mild skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated exposure may dry the skin. Symptoms may include redness, burning, drying and cracking, and skin burns. Skin absorption is possible, but harmful effects are not expected from this route of exposure under normal conditions of handling and use.

SKIN ABSORPTION: A single prolonged exposure is not likely to result in the material being absorbed through skin in harmful amounts. The LD50 for skin absorption in rabbits is greater than 30,000 mg/kg. 

INGESTION: Single dose oral toxicity is low. No hazards anticipated from swallowing small amounts incidental to normal handling operations; swallowing large amounts may be harmful.

INHALATION: Exposure to vapor or mist is possible. At room temperature, exposures to vapors are unlikely due to physical properties; higher temperatures may generate vapor levels sufficient to cause irritation. Short term inhalation toxicity is low. Breathing small amounts during normal handling is not likely to cause harmful effects; breathing large amounts may be harmful. Symptoms are more typically seen at air concentrations exceeding the recommended exposure limits.

SYSTEMIC (OTHER TARGET ORGAN) EFFECTS: Based on available data, repeated exposures are not anticipated to cause significant adverse effects.

SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: gastrointestinal irritation (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), irritation (nose, throat, respiratory tract), central nervous system depression (dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, headache, unconsciousness), low blood pressure, mild, reversible liver effects, effects on heart rate, respiratory depression, impaired coordination, confusion, pulmonary edema (swelling and collection of fluid in the lung), kidney damage, coma.

SKIN CONTACT: Wash off with soap and water. EYE CONTACT: Flush with water.

SECTION IX - SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Respirator protection not normally needed since the volatility and toxicity are low. If vapors, mists, or aerosols are generated, wear a NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator.

VENTILATION: Provide general and/or local exhaust ventilation to control airborne levels below the exposure guidelines.

SKIN PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: No precautions other than clean body-covering clothing should be needed. Gloves should be worn.

EYE PROTECTION: Use safety glasses.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Atmospheric levels should be maintained below the exposure guideline. For most conditions, no respiratory protection should be needed; however, if handling at elevated temperatures without sufficient ventilation, use an approved air-purifying respirator.STORAGE CONDITIONS: DO NOT store at temperatures above 55ºC (131ºF). Product will absorb water vapor. Keep a dry air (Dew point - 40ºF) or nitrogen atmosphere on storage vessel at all times.
